Ramanandacharya celebrating on the birth of Krishna

Prayagraj (Uttar pradesh). Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Shriramnareshcharya Ji Maharaj, the head of the Ramavat or Ramanand sect, is a rare saint in the country and the world. He is not in favor of any kind of show-off. He is in favor of a straightforward form of devotion. In today’s time, Ramanandacharya, the supreme Acharya of the Ram Bhakti tradition, starts becoming emotional even before the birth of lord Krishna.

A few days before Janmashtami, when devotees perform kirtan and dance, even Ramanandacharya cannot stop himself. He also comes forward to play Khartal or Jhal and starts footing or dancing. Then his devotees surround him and dance. This scene is rare. This is seen only during the celebration of Janmashtami.

Ramanandacharya Swami Shriramnareshcharya ji is performing the holy Chaturmas Yagya in Prayagraj this time. This year Chaturmas is being organized at the birthplace of Ramanandacharya ji, who laid the foundation of the Ramanand sect. Chaturmas is organized every year. Shriramnareshacharya ji is also celebrating the birth of Krishna at the great Harit Madhav Temple, Daraganj, Prayagraj. His disciples who came from all over the country also participated in the event.

Gurudev Maharaj Ramanandacharya ji always says that God should be remembered continuously. Only by constant remembrance the devotee get benefits in this world as well as in the next world (Parlok). He narrates the story of Krishna. Once Krishna said to Arjun, ‘Just remember my name before your death. I will receive you.’ Then Arjun asked, ‘Oh my Lord, how will it be ensured that only your name will come to my mind before my death in the end?’

Then Krishna smiled and replied, ‘Oh, Arjuna, For this you will have to chant my name continuously. When you take my name continuously, it will become your practice and in the end, you will be able to take my name.’
